How do we leave a place we love so much? This place where the sunflowers grow tall beside the road,

This place where the beautiful hay fields stretch across the the rolling hills.

This place, where the blue sky goes on forever

and the sunsets glow so bright.

How do we say goodbye to our faithful little house in the sandhills?

This house, with the faded siding

and the hopeful little flowerbeds out front.

This house that we first shared as a newlywed couple,

and then as first time parents.

This house, where we cradled our newborn daughter,

and later, watched her learn to crawl.

How do we leave the people we love so dearly?

These people who have been here through thick and through thin.

These people who have made us feel loved and accepted.

These people who have helped us get a good start in life with their selfless generosity.

These people, who we know so well, and will miss so dearly.

How do we say goodbye to the place we call home?

This Kansas land.      

This place where we were born.

And met the Lord,

And got married,

And had our first baby.

We shall miss our Kansas folk so very dearly, along with the familiarity of this place, and all the things we love so much about it. However, we are also so very excited to start our new life in Iowa. We feel so blessed as we start this new chapter, and are extremely thankful for the way everything has fell into our laps. We also feel the love and acceptance in Red Oak and feel that it will be easy to make friends there. We'll be back to see you all, and look forward to you stopping in at our new home when you happen to be in the area♡
